I'm so excited, for two wonderful reasons.
First, I am exactly 2 full work days away from my staycation. It cannot come soon enough.
Second, I came across an amazing opportunity that speaks to the very heart of Johnny and June. IKEA (My favorite store of all time. Seriously, I am obsessed. Someday I'll dedicate a blog post to the wonder that is IKEA. 10 points to anyone who knows where this comes from: "ya di blue di bla bee...and that's the Swedish National Anthem, thank you for asking") is hosting The Life Improvement Project. The idea is that one person will be awarded $100,000 to take a whole year off and do something amazing for the community (start a non-profit organization, volunteer, etc.). Wow. Johnny and I talk all the time about doing something amazing like that. This really strikes the heart of Johnny and I, as we definitely have a heart for serving others. I mean, I'm sure a million people will apply for this, but who knows? It could be us that win!
You have to write an essay describing what you would do. Any thoughts or ideas for us? Johnny and I will start our brainstorming for sure. Johnny is the dreamer between the two of us, so I'm betting that by the end of the day he'll have a business plan for our non-profit organization, including staff needs, mission statement, logo designed, 3 potential locations and their costs, and a working budget for the next 10 years. I'm not kidding. This is who I married. And I love him more than anything.
If this strikes your interest, please apply! We could use some friendly competition :)
