11 Dreams for 2011

Okay folks, I'm going public with this. No, no babies. I know that's the first thought from most people in my life, with Johnny and I approaching three years of marriage, but we're not quite there yet :) Johnny has bigger fish to fry (I love that saying) with the news from his last post. No, this is actually very big (for me anyway). It is my "11 Dreams for 2011."

Here's something you need to know about me. I am not a dreamer. Dreaming actually can be a pretty scary thing for me, because I am much more the realist. Sometimes being the realist is a great thing, but sometimes it hinders me from reaching out and grabbing some dream, be it big or small. I know I will never become a dreamer, and I'm perfectly fine with that, but I wanted to stretch myself this year. In November, I was inspired by a friend to come up with 11 Dreams for 2011. So, that is exactly what I did. I worked on it for about three months (yes, three months. I repeat, I am not a dreamer), and finally came up with my 11 dreams. So (drum roll please), here are my 11 Dreams for 2011 with commentary. No mocking please :)
  1. Run a 5K
  2. Buy a camera
  3. Go to the Rochester Public Market more often
  4. Sabbath once a week
  5. Make The Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls
  6. Read one new book each month
  7. Journal more often
  8. Do something artistic
  9. Memorize some passages from the Bible
  10. Be vegan for one full month
  11. Do something special for Johnny once a month
You may be thinking, "Vegan for a month?" or "Artistic? Are you sure?" or "What's so darn special about these cinnamon rolls?" I assure you, reasoning and examples are to come. These are 11 things that I've wanted to do for a while, and never put into motion until now. I'm excited to share in this journey with you all, and I hope you're excited to come along for the ride!
