I promised Thursday I would give an update on my job status as I boldly scale the walls of unemployment. Drum roll please…I got a job! There is a non-profit organization in the city I got in touch with conveniently on my last day at
Anyway, I had the opportunity to meet up with them this past Thursday. They said they were definitely interested in bringing me on board, but again, weren’t sure when that could happen. I told them that I would love to start part-time during the days, until they could lock up a full-time position for me. They said, “Awesome, when can you start?” Slam dunk :) Now I know some of you may wonder if I settled, but truthfully, I am an "everywhere man". I like to have my hands in lots of things. Including June’s blueberry scones. They are HHAmazing. HHUnbelievable. I will have you over some time if you don’t believe me! She brings a whole new meaning to sexy when it comes to cooking.
Back to my update. Working part-time for an awesome organization during the day, and serving at night at a great restaurant, while being able to pursue my Masters = PRICELESS. I failed to mention, I also have a second interview at one of June’s favorite places to eat. June's most excited about the leftovers, even more than me being employed.
Unfortunately, come April 5th I am no longer a stay-at-home husband. I know this is disappointing for some of you, and to me as well. I will be sure to live it up for the next week being job-less, with some laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping. In all seriousness, thank you for everyone who supported me in my decision to walk away from my job. I had been seriously considering it for over a year. The reality is that it was just a job. There are millions of others just like it. I think people sometimes get stuck doing something they truly don’t like because of fear of the unknown. Unpredictability beyond their work desk is frightening. The truth is that unemployment comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb! For all of you who are hung up on whether to leave your miserable comfort, a great man once said, “Get busy living, or get busy dying!"
